Arthur Conan Doyle, a well-known British writer and physician, is renowned for creating the iconic character of Sherlock Holmes. His stories have made a significant impact on the genre of crime fiction. The first story, A Study in Scarlet, was published in Beeton's Christmas Annual in 1887 and was later serialized in the prestigious Strand Magazine starting in 1891. After his father's institutionalization in 1893, Doyle chose to end the series with The Final Problem, but due to popular demand, he brought Holmes back to life in The Hound of the Baskervilles five years later. The series continued with The Return of Sherlock Holmes and the first adventure, The Empty House, in 1903.
