Japan has the highest kaiju-emergence rates in the world, making it a prime target for deadly monster attacks. To combat this threat, the Japan Defense Force was formed as a specialized military organization. One man, Kafka Hibino, has always dreamed of joining the force, but when he finally gets the chance, he undergoes a sudden and unexpected transformation that makes his dream even more complicated.
