Saadat Hasan Manto (1912–1955) is widely revered as one of the greatest Urdu literature authors. With over twenty collections of short stories published throughout his literary career, which lasted almost two decades, Manto's works have been adapted into various films and plays that have garnered multiple awards. Among his most well-known pieces are his accounts of the 1947 Partition, considered some of the most exceptional recollections of this catastrophic event.
