Description:

This biography chronicles the life of Zohra Segal (1912-2014), a pioneering figure in the Indian arts scene. With a family connected to the nawabs of Rampur, Zohra Mumtazullah Khan broke tradition at the young age of 18 to travel to Germany and study modern dance. She continued to challenge societal norms throughout her life, joining Uday Shankar's dance troupe and later setting up a unique dance school with her husband in Lahore. From there, she became a part of Prithvi Theatres and brought socially relevant plays to audiences across India. Even through personal tragedies, Zohra never stopped blazing her own path, which eventually led her to London and a career on television and film. In her eighties, she returned to India and became a beloved Bollywood star, breaking barriers and making a lasting impact on the arts.
